Online Specification Tools Star of the new site is an easy to use tool to make producing a robust domestic fire alarm specification quick and simple – the Specification Selector. Following a simple five step process, the Specification Selector guides the user through alarm Grades and Categories, choice of back-up supply, alarm sensor types, alarm quality and installation methods. With each option comes a brief description, allowing the user to make an informed decision. At the end of the process, a professional pre-written specification can be downloaded. For specifiers looking to find a specific product, there is a dynamic Product Search tool which allows the user to search by product code or drill down by product attribute – for example, all mains powered alarms, or alarms of a certain sensor type etc. For specifiers looking for suitably qualified installers, the new website lists all installation companies who have been trained under the Aico Fire Products Trained Installer Scheme (AFPTIS), which can be searched on a county basis.
