Fike's new clean agent systems featuring Impulse valve technology11 November 2010Fike is known worldwide as a leader in clean agent fire suppression systems and is committed to ongoing improvement in the technology and effectiveness of all its safety products. The latest innovative development is Impulse, the new range of clean agent fire suppression systems.
Fike systems have always featured high reliability and quality, with over 60 years of experience in engineering pressure relief systems. The Impulse valve is the latest unique rupture disc valve. The valve technology employed in the Impulse product range greatly enhances the efficiency in which the system discharges clean agent gas compared to standard mechanical valves. The operation of the valve can be performed mechanically, pneumatically, electrically or in combination with each other. The actuation is performed using re-settable actuation devices which enables full function testing without discharging the cylinder.
Another unique feature of the Impulse clean agent system is the Impulse Release Interface (IRI). This device not only acts as a junction box for providing feedback from the system pressure switches but also enables four or more cylinders to be released on a single operating circuit, significantly reducing installation costs with multiple cylinder applications. Impulse is available with DuPontTM FM-200 and Ecaro-FE25 fire suppression gases and is available both as LPCB and UL/FM approvals.
