A 32-year-old woman is undergoing psychiatric assessment following a suspicious fire in a tower block on Monday afternoon.
Around 100 firefighters attended the blaze at a 16-storey block in Kingston-upon-Thames, using two aerial ladders and 20 fire engines.
The building was evacuated before London fire crews arrived at the scene, with 40 people reportedly fleeing the flats.
The fire, which took hold before 5pm, affected the top four storeys and roof of the Madingley block on Cambridge Estate. It burned for four hours before it was under control. There have been no casualties reported.
The woman, who was taken into custody shortly after the fire broke out, has now been bailed while investigations continue.
