Smoke ventilation for Cumbrian retail outlet centre04 January 2011
A new retail and leisure centre has been fitted with smoke ventilation systems from Cosaf. The 60,000 sq ft K Village outlet centre in Kendall, Cumbria has been equipped with car park ventilation, firefighting stair pressurisation, smoke clearance systems and natural day-to-day ventilation systems. The car park ventilation system addresses the build up of car exhaust fumes as well as providing smoke extraction to help protect the building in the event of a fire. The induction ventilation method used, says Cosaf, provides a lighter environment – due to the elimination of distribution ductwork – together with lower power consumption. In addition, the company installed a stair pressurisation system for the car park’s firefighting stair cores. By Ron Alalouff 04/01/11 |
