RPC packaging plant fitted with fire alarm system

Chubb Fire and Security has installed a fully addressable fire alarm system at a plant owned by the RPC Group, one of Europe’s largest packaging businesses.

A Type P2 fire alarm system was installed at the company’s Blackburn site, with detectors fitted throughout the building in areas identified as high risk, such as plant rooms and storage facilities.

It replaced an older system that was obsolete.

Plant engineer Bob Hamer said: “We have been working with Chubb for a number of years on the monitoring and maintenance of our current system and have been pleased with the service provided.

"It was an obvious choice to discuss with them our need to upgrade our systems.

The RPC Group manufactures rigid plastic packaging in a number of sites across Europe.
