Record fiscal year for Halma Group25 June 2010Halma, the global group that includes companies such as Air Products & Controls, Apollo, Fire Fighting Enterprises, Klaxon and Texecom, has released record financial results for its fiscal year ending 3 April 2010. The UK-based group has announced an increase of profits by 9% to £86m and a 1% growth in revenue to £459m. Other highlights of the results included an increase in revenues in China by 59% and a rise of 9% for the Far East and Australasia. The Group said this was in line with its continued expansion in the international market - particularly Asia. Halma is now seeking acquisitions with a particular focus on photonics, water, fluid technology and health optics. Nigel Trodd, chief executive of the Group’s fire and security division, said: “In recent months we have increased our acquisition search activity.” “Our experience has been that vendors of good quality businesses are now keener to talk but that many remain cautious about whether to sell now or to wait, in the hope that markets will recover in the medium term. Our task is to convince them that they will achieve even greater success by being part of Halma and to structure deals accordingly. We continue to search for businesses in all of our existing market sectors and in all geographic regions.” For a closer look at the results, click here. |
