The ‘white paper’, Reducing Unwanted Fire Signals within a Healthcare Environment is designed to help fire safety managers and others involved in healthcare fire safety. It offers advice on integrating the management of unwanted fire signals into fire risk assessments, guidance on relevant standards and best practice, and a section on service and maintenance to help reduce false alarms.

The document also includes an update on potentially suitable systems and technologies, some of which are available from ADT Fire and Security.

"In healthcare properties and particularly hospitals, unwanted fire signals can cause huge disruption to the day-to-day running of the facility," said Peter Lackey, fire product marketing manager at ADT Fire and Security. "The aim of the new whitepaper is to help ensure those responsible for healthcare facilities have as much guidance and information as possible at their disposal to be able to provide a safer environment."
