When PEL Services was asked to install fire safety systems at three new Debenhams stores in Blackpool, Livingston near Edinburgh and Westfield in London, the sheer size of the stores and project timescales proved a serious challenge.
PEL designed, supplied and commissioned the fire alarm, public address and disabled refuge call systems in Livingston and Westfield and designed, supplied, installed and commissioned the fire alarm, voice alarm, in-store TV, intruder alarm and disabled refuge call systems in Debenhams Blackpool.
Open protocol systems were installed in each store, while the Livingston system includes aspirating smoke detectors which sample air in protected areas to give an early warning of a fire.
The Blackpool branch has a Bosch Plena voice evacuation system with a variety of speakers installed, while Livingston and Westfield had public address systems installed to broadcast music and in-store radio.
