Kentec Syncro fire panels have been fitted to the grade 1 listed building, updating a previous fire solution.

The system, engineered and installed by Stalleon Services, includes a Kentec 8 loop Syncro control panel and Syncro response repeater panel, with over 700 Apollo Series 90 and XP95 devices which are supported by Apollo's open protocol fire data communications.

Founded in 1856, the National Portrait Gallery houses a collection of around 10,000 portraits of historically important British people.
