Mobile phone accessories for emergency vehicles20 October 2010Mobile accessories retailer Mobile Fun has launched an online service to help firefighters find the right mobile holders for their fire engine cabs.
The service is to highlight holders designed for a number of different mobile devices - a departure from the standard size used in many vehicles. Many of the UK’s fire services use a standard hard-case cradle within their cabs, which can present an array of problems, Mobile Fun said. These include different set ups in cabs and a wide variety of devices being used, some of which may be too big or small to fit securely into standard cradles. Earlier this year, Mobile Fun sourced accessories for West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service. The company's product directory has cradles for a range of devices including BlackBerrys (see left), iPhones and Nokias. Ruel Taylor, director at Mobile Fun, said: “We are always looking for ways to push our business and expertise further so we were happy to invest the time needed to complete the report and source alternative, improved cradles to suit individual cabs. “We were eager to help the fire services with the problems they faced from their standard cradles. By offering them much-needed mobile device accessories specifically suited to their needs, we’re helping to ensure the smooth running of one of the country’s most important public services.” |
