Loop sounder system from Vimpex

Loop sounder system
The system consists of a loop controller module and sounders/sounder-beacons

Vimpex says its new loop sounder system allows a fire alarm sounder circuit to be built using a single loop, while providing enhanced circuit integrity and reliability, and realising potential cable savings.

The system consists of a DINT1 loop controller module and the Banshee sounders and FlashTone sounder/beacons, which are fitted with bi-directional short-circuit isolators in their base. The small DINT1 module is installed between the standard control panel sounder circuit and the loop and is designed for DIN rail mounting within a wall-mounted enclosure. Each loop can accommodate up to 45 sounders and multiple modules can be installed, depending on the size of system.

In the event of a short circuit the isolators will activate and disconnect the faulty section of cable and report (in monitoring mode) the fault to the control panel. When the sounders are activated, the loop is driven from both ends ensuring that all sounders will remain operational even in the event of a single short-circuit or open-circuit fault. Sounders and their isolator bases are installed just like any other conventional sounders on a twin core circuit.
