A Pyro-Chem Kitchen Knight II fire suppression system has been installed at the Barbican Kitchen restaurant in Plymouth.
The pre-engineered system comprises containers fitted with quick valves and actuators, with a wet chemical agent that is designed to suppress restaurant cooking area fires. Defined by the NFPA-17A standard for Wet Chemical Extinguishing Systems and NFPA-96 for the Installation of Equipment for the Removal of Smoke and Grease-Laden Vapours from Commercial Cooking Equipment, Ardent says the system also meets the UL300 requirements specified by many insurers.
Owner and chef Chris Tanner said: “Ardent worked closely with us to install the system quickly and efficiently overnight with the minimum of disruption to our business. Having the system in place provides piece of mind that our business and the building are protected.”
