C-Tec has been nominated as one of the UK’s outstanding examples of manufacturing excellence for the Made in Britain initiative.
The life safety equipment manufacturer will join other British companies such as Aga, Bentley, Dyson, JCB and Morgan Motors at a modern day ‘Grand Exhibition’. Inspired by Prince Albert’s Great Exhibition in 1851 and jointly organised by the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group and the 1851 Royal Commission, the event has been timed to coincide with the Queen’s diamond jubilee next year.
Each of the UK’s 650 MPs have been asked to nominate a manufacturing company in their constituencies.

C-Tec was nominated by Yvonne Fovargue, MP for Makerfield, the constituency in which two of the company’s Wigan-based manufacturing plants are situated.
“C-Tec is a successful and innovative business with ambitious plans for the future,” said Ms Fovargue. She singled out the company’s Hush Button as being particularly deserving of praise, saying: “This innovative product places
C-Tec as a world leader in the field of fire protection due to its potential to save thousands of lives.”
