EN54-4 power supplies drive the aspirating detection system

A futuristic 14-screen cinema complex has been kitted out with a range of life safety equipment from C-Tec.

Vue Westfield is said to be the biggest all-digital cinema in Europe and features two super-size screens the size of four double-decker buses.

A series of C-Tec’s 24V EN54-4 compliant power supplies control the aspirating system which continuously samples air for the smallest traces of smoke, to provide early warning in the event of a fire.

The complex is also equipped with a SigNet Integrity voice alarm system which functions as a fully integrated voice alarm, public address and background music system.

Other installations include a disabled refuge communication system, and an addressable call system for the cinema’s 11 washrooms for disabled people.
