An LA Fitness gym in Brighton had to be evacuated on Sunday morning due a chemical scare.
Chlorine was found to be leaking from the spa pool, which had been over-chlorinated.
Around 25 firefighters and a hazardous materials officer from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended after an emergency call at 9am.
The road was closed to the public as a precautionary measure while crews investigated. Later, a forty-metre cordon was set up to keep the members of the public at a safe distance while crews ventilated the building.
An environmental health officer from Brighton and Hove City Council was also called in to monitor nearby drains.
Station commander Andy Gausden said: "Onsite staff evacuated everybody and did all the right things and no one was injured."
