The company, which makes fire alarm control panels, disabled refuge systems and call
communication systems, scooped a 'most innovative business' award at Wigan Business Awards for its Hush Button product.

Designed to prevent false alarms, the Hush Button is geared towards residents in multi-occupied buildings like housing complexes, student halls of residence and tower block apartments.

Andrew Foster, C-TEC’s managing director and inventor of the product, said: “A Hush Button can be looked upon as a miniature fire alarm, providing the resident with the means to silence false alarms themselves, for example, if they set the fire alarm off accidentally by burning a meal. It could prevent false alarms and full-scale evacuation of other residents in the building.”
