Innovation award for false alarm reduction product26 February 2010Fire safety equipment manufacturer C-TEC has been recognised for innovation at a regional business awards event.
The company, which makes fire alarm control panels, disabled refuge systems and call Designed to prevent false alarms, the Hush Button is geared towards residents in multi-occupied buildings like housing complexes, student halls of residence and tower block apartments. Andrew Foster, C-TEC’s managing director and inventor of the product, said: “A Hush Button can be looked upon as a miniature fire alarm, providing the resident with the means to silence false alarms themselves, for example, if they set the fire alarm off accidentally by burning a meal. It could prevent false alarms and full-scale evacuation of other residents in the building.” |
