The Lion and Lobster pub in Brighton, which is owned by the family of one-time Eastenders actor Gary Whelan, has been fitted with a Fireco fire safety system.

The seaside building, which is one of Brighton’s oldest pubs and restaurants, was fitted with Fireco’s System X wireless solution.

The System X solution is now used to communicate with Dorgards fitted on fire doors throughout the premises.

Owner Finn Whelan said: “We have a maze of rooms, cosy little bars within the restaurant, and kitchens on the first and second floors, so there are lots of fire doors. We get very busy, so it's vital customers and staff can move about easily. System X is the perfect solution as it allows us to keep our fire doors open safely and legally, throughout the building.”

System X is compliant with BS EN 1155 and BS 7273-4, and suitable for any category of fire door, according to Fireco.
