Hands on experience offered with virtual reality training tool23 June 2010Visitors to Fire and Rescue 2010 have been invited to try out a software program that will create 3D incident scenarios to aid training. Dutch software manufacturer E-Semble, is to showcase its XVR product at the Harrogate International Centre, stand M68, from 29 to 30 June. The software was first used by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service in 2009 at the Severn Park Fire and Rescue training centre. A spokesman for E-Semble said: “XVR enables their instructors to design an incident beforehand. And during the exercise the have full control over the evolution of events in the scenario. “In a specially designed simulation room students will be prepared for various kinds of incidents, from a small traffic incident in a residential area to a large fire in a petrochemical installation in an industrial area.” By Amy Rowe |
