Manufacturer Victaulic is offering free training to those who design, install, service and maintain fire protection systems.
Mechanical pipe-joining systems company, Victaulic, which manufactures pipe-joining systems as well as a range of sprinkler heads, alarm valves and check valves, aims to give training that satisfies LPS 1048 - requirements for the approval of sprinkler system contractors in the UK.
Training sessions are delivered on demand at Victaulic’s office in Stevenage. A standard half-day course should cover applications from grooved-end pipe preparation and joint assembly techniques through to checking and testing of valves and ensuring correct operation of sprinkler systems, the company said.
Participants are to be issued with a certificate of attendance to show that they have been trained and are competent to install Victaulic alarm valves and devices.
Nick Scull, UK fire protection market manager, said: “Many of our customers know us for our couplings and fittings but are unaware that Victaulic can supply everything needed for any kind of fire protection application as a one-stop shop.
“Attending one of our training sessions is a good way of discovering the range of items and support we provide for efficient, cost-effective fire protection.”
