Flexible audible/visual system for multi-use hall

The use of the hall changes between daytime and evenings

A new detection and alarm system has been installed at the Royal British Legion’s function hall in east London.

Banham Security fitted a system designed to category L3. In view of the daytime use of the building by many elderly people, both audible and visual warning devices were fitted.

During the evening, the hall is often used for discos and live music for a younger clientele. The fire system is therefore designed to trip the power sockets on stage to help ensure that the audible alarms are heard immediately.

The fire detection system was connected to the intruder alarm redcare monitoring system, which had to be modified to make sure that it had the same standby time as the fire detection system (72 hours).
