A Poundstretcher store has been destroyed and two other shops badly damaged in a large fire at a retail park in Belfast.
Around 85 firefighters and 17 appliances tackled the blaze at the Boucher retail park in response to a call at around 4.20 am on Tuesday. The fire, which started at the Poundstretcher store, spread to involve two other units – JD Sports and Birthdays. A further nine stores in the complex were affected by smoke and water.
The fire was brought under control after about four hours but operations continued until around 5.00 pm.
There were no reports of any injuries and a joint police and fire service investigation is under way.
