The increasing trend towards security systems companies offering fire safety systems installation, plus the gradual move towards integrated systems, are two of the reasons behind an enhanced Fire Solutions feature at IFSEC International next May.

These trends are underpinned by new research commissioned by IFSEC organisers UBM Live, which suggests that 42% of IFSEC visitors anticipate an increased spend on fire products and installations. In addition, many security installers are now looking to move into fire alarm design and installation, driven by the prospect of recurring revenue from service and maintenance.

“The research identified that many installers are now looking to move into fire alarm design and installation, as there are additional benefits in terms of maintenance and upgrade contracts over a longer period of time,” said Gerry Dunphy, sales director for UBM Fire.

“Ultimately there seems to be recognition that fire safety is also a relatively robust business area as it is underpinned by building control regulations and is therefore a legal necessity.”

A line-up of leading companies are set to showcase the newest industry innovations, including Apollo Fire Detectors, Advanced Electronics, C-Tec, Kentec, Hochiki Europe, Tyco Fire Protection Products, EMS Radio Fire & Security, Teledata, The Fire Beam Company and Intertek.

Filling the gap temporarily left by the biennial Firex International, which returns in 2013, Fire Solutions will provide visitors with the opportunity to meet a range of experts, and to experience some of the leading products and systems from the fire alarm industry.

IFSEC International, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 14-17 May, is expected to see around 650 exhibitors and 25,000 security and fire professionals from over 100 countries coming together to discover the latest innovations and solutions in commercial security and fire safety.
