Fire safety enforcement in tough economic times16 September 2010How do you maintain fire safety when everyone’s’ budgets are being squeezed? That’s just one of the issues to be addressed at the Info4fire learning zone next month at Firex North in Manchester. As part of the free seminar programme, Enforcement Policy Manager for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Richard Stott, will examine how premises owners and managers are likely to be looking spend cost-effectively on fire safety measures. At the same time, he will address the likelihood fire authorities having reduced budgets and the impact that may have on enforcement. Other speakers at the seminar session See You in Court? Legal and enforcement proceedings, will be Hilary Ross, partner at Bond Pearce solicitors, and well-known fire safety expert Colin Todd. In a separate session, Keith Minster of Morley-IAS will be giving a presentation, from a fire detection and alarm system supplier’s perspective, on achieving compliance with the law and with system standards in challenging economic times.
