MWC Contracts (Roofing) Ltd used the panels to create new roofing for the Thames Room and the Beaufort Bar in the foyer area of the hotel.
A total of 240m2 of Kingspan KS1000 Lo-Pitch (LP) and approximately 150m2 of KS1000 RW were installed at the hotel.
Nick Smith from MWC Roofing said: “Access to the working area at The Savoy was limited due to the lack of space on site, therefore no use of hoisting facilities could be made.
"The Beaufort Bar especially presented extreme difficulty but we’d used Kingspan panels many times before and we knew they are easy to install because the system is an all in one system - liner, insulation and outer sheet bonded together during manufacture.”
In another part of the building, similar panels have been used to create a new cold storage area. The panels have been made with polyisocyanurate (PIR) at their core.
A heat reclaim system was also installed with the Kingspan modular boxes, so that their cooling systems might provide recycled heat to the hotel’s hot water supply to the bedrooms.
