Fire alarm panels approved to EU marine directive

11 March 2010

A range of fire alarm panels made by Kentec has been awarded a certification of conformity from the Maritime Equipment Directorate (MED).

The status, known as the wheel mark, is the regulatory marking of all marine equipment according to EU law.

Kentec’s Syncro ASM single and two loop, analogue addressable, fire control panels are designed to be compatible with a number of brands of marine analogue addressable approved detection devices and networked to provide scalable fire alarm systems for many classes of vessel.

The panels operate through a 3 amp power supply, and are Windows-based, with a loop explorer configuration utility.

I have just built a passenger vessel to the new European code class "C".
I need a detection and alarm system involving engine room smoke and two alarm call points. The system can be as simple as you can make it and we have some pretty tight budget constraints. My mobile phone number is 07770 96 32 38 and would very much like a call to discuss options.
Best regards
Steve Woodward.
