Fike has achieved UTC Supplier Gold status, a programme established by United Technologies Corporation to facilitate superior performance and to recognise suppliers for exceptional performance.

The programme was developed to improve and reward excellent performance within the UTC supply network and measures quality, delivery, customer satisfaction and ‘lean scores’.

Fike is a supplier of pressure relief solutions to Pratt & Whitney, a UTC company. After personnel from Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne worked closely with Fike to solve a specific challenge, they thought Fike could meet the Gold Supplier criteria and encouraged the company to become involved in the programme.

Penny Ursino, Fike applications manager, pressure relief and explosion protection, said. “The process of achieving any of the performance levels includes an extensive performance analysis, self-assessment, market feedback on customer satisfaction and a GAP closure plan.

“In addition, we interact with many Pratt & Whitney personnel, and they were all interviewed as to what it was like to conduct business with Fike. The entire process was quite intense and thorough. We were excited to have reached their top performance level.”

The benefits to suppliers who reach the Supplier Gold status include reward and recognition through exposure to UTC supply management leadership and leading industry publications, as well as Gold Supplier on-line tools.
