Economy and environment on agenda for Fire and Rescue 2010

04 March 2010

Adapting to a lean economic climate is one of the topics to be discussed at the Fire and Rescue conference 2010.

Leading a Lean and Effective Fire and Rescue Service, to be held at the Harrogate International Centre, Harrogate, 28-30 June, will look at the changing global environment as well as the implications of the recession on fire and rescue services.

Speakers will include Tony Travers, of the London School of Economics and Frank Duffield, the chief officer of Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. John Woodcock from the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) will also chair a conference session.

Also speaking at the conference will be Matt Wrack, the general secretary of the Fire Brigades Union and Peter Holland, vice president of the Chief Fire Officers' Association (CFOA).

The conference, endorsed by CFOA, the Fire Protection Association and IFE, is part of the Fire and Rescue 2010 event, which aims to provide fire and rescue professionals with a focused opportunity to see fire and rescue products in action, as well as to network with colleagues.
