‘Easy assemble’ sprinkler fitting launched by Victaulic11 April 2011A sprinkler fitting with a ‘unique design’ that will allow contractors to install in a ‘faster and safer way’ is to be showcased at International Firex 2011.
Victaulic's AquaFlex stainless steel fittings have been designed for commercial suspended and hard ceilings for round or square duct work to provide fire protection where combustible gasses may be present. The range, which comes preassembled, consists of a flexible stainless steel hose and is available in 790-1830 mm in length. It also has a reducer for connecting the sprinkler and a branch nipple for attachment to the piping system. “Our AquaFlex sprinkler fitting has a unique design enabling contractors to install in a faster and safer way,” a spokesman from Victaulic said. “It doesn't require any tools to assemble and it allows easy three dimensional installation of the sprinkler.” Launching the product at stand E30, from 16-19 May, the company will also allow visitors to have a go at installing its couplings. Its LPCB-approved Series 769 FireLock NXT Preaction Alarm Valve will also be on display. Designed for data centres, storage areas for valuable items, and libraries, the valve operates at pressure up to 300psi/2065 kPa and comes available with several release mechanism options. “The Series 769 has advantages for the installer, maintainer and owner,” Victaulic said. “It’s the quickest and easiest preaction device to set up, install and maintain, which brings contractors considerable time- and cost-saving benefits. Because the device is simple to operate and maintain, end users can be confident that the system functions correctly to give them reliable protection.” |
