Birmingham Airport's new One TerminalBirmingham airport have specified Draka fire-rated cable as part of their £100m redevelopment.
The airport recently combined Teminal One, and the Euro Hub into a single facility named One Terminal.
The airport used Draka Firetuf FTP-120 cable to provide power to the airport’s sprinkler fire suppression control system. It is a halogen free low smoke cable that meets the requirements of various BSI British Standards, including the 120-minute fire resistance rating (BS 8519:2010), and fire integrity power cable rating (BS 8491:2008).
Mark Froggat, Draka’s marketing services manager said, “The Firetuf FTP120 cable is designed specifically to provide enhanced fire performance for critical installation in complex, fire-engineered buildings such as airports, hospitals and public buildings where fire safety replies on the continued working of automatic fire suppression facilities, fire detection and alarm systems, smoke control, ventilation, sprinklers, shutters and firefighting lifts.”
