Disabled refuge system at new Hilton hotel

14 August 2009

A disabled refuge system and public address system have been installed at the new Hilton hotel in Reading.

The Omnicare disabled refuge system from Baldwin Boxall features two 32-way control panels (one master and one slave), ten disabled refuge area remote units and twelve disabled toilet alarms. The system enables the monitoring of both the disabled refuge remote units and the disabled toilet alarms at a single panel. An additional beacon has been placed on the reception desk – connected via the control panel's volt-free contact facility – to alert staff to a call when the area is particularly busy or noisy.

A 16-zone PA system has also been installed to provide music, live announcements and up to 16 pre-recorded messages.

The design and installation of both systems was carried out by Trinity Protection Systems.
