Around 30 firefighters were called to a blaze at around 11.30pm on Tuesday (9 August) at a timber frame building under construction in Crayford, south east London.
“This was a timber framed building under construction of four floors,” said London Fire Brigade watch manager, Kevin Wassell. “Crews did a very good job in saving a large part of this structure.”
Half of the ground floor and part of the first floor was damaged by fire.
Fifteen people evacuated neighbouring properties. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
