Cooper Fire has been awarded ‘best manufacturer’ for its role in SLAM – the project to deliver single living accommodation modernisation for service personnel across various Ministry of Defence sites.
The award is from the electrical and mechanical services engineers for the whole project, Lorne Stewart, and recognises product quality, value for money, site support, commissioning and after-sales service. Cooper Fire also came third in the ‘innovations’ category. Award winners are voted by Lorne Stewart office and site employees.
“This is a highly contested category and one which Cooper Fire is very proud to have won,” said Tony Jameson when receiving the award on behalf of Cooper Fire.
Since it’s inception four years ago, SLAM has seen 70 individual projects delivered comprising over 12,516 bed spaces. In addition, 34 projects are in the construction or design phases and will deliver a further 6000 bed spaces.
Now in its fourth year, the awards event also acts as a fund-raiser for the charity, the Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Families Association.
