Bewildered tourists were led away to safety after a car fire near Buckingham Palace last Wednesday (14 July) was thought to have been a possible terrorist threat.
The blaze, which started in one parked vehicle and spread to two others nearby, was later thought to be down to overheating or an electrical fault.
It meant visitors to The Mall in central London were not able to witness the changing of the guard, which typically takes place at 11.30am every day.
The road between Admiralty Arch and the Queen Victoria Memorial was closed to traffic and pedestrians. News reports said that Green Park was also cleared.
The fire was out by 11.03am.
