05 August 2011

Police are investigating an arson attack on a joinery workshop near Shrewsbury which caused up to £400,000 damage.

The blaze at Niblett Bespoke Joinery in Edgebold, near Hanwood – which investigators believe started outside – caused extensive damage to the main 50m x 20m workshop building, including the roof and machinery inside.

Crews were called to the fire just before 2.00am on 31 July and extinguished the blaze in around two hours.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The fire is being treated as arson and we are appealing for any information which might assist the investigation."
