Alarm for the deaf scoops award

27 February 2010

The Deaf Alerter, a warning and messaging service for the deaf and hard of hearing, is the first product to have been awarded by a new accreditation scheme for the UK’s sport and fitness market.

The Deaf Alerter picks up an inclusion award
Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) status, based on the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, aims to identify safe and inclusive equipment for the disabled.

Liz Parslow, marketing director of Deaf Alerter, said: “We’re very proud that our DA2000 fire alarm warning and messaging system is the first product to achieve IFI recognised product status; we consider life safety to be of the utmost priority."

She added: “Inclusive fitness also needs an inclusive environment.”
