Around 70 firefighters battled through the night to put out a blaze on a waste processing site last week.
A hazardous materials unit, mobile centre until and ten fire engines were mobilised to put out the fire, which started around 10am on 12 October. It was mostly out by 4pm the next day.
The fire destroyed a 50 by 60 unit at the Burscough Industrial Estate, in Lancashire, which is used to store clinical waste. Crews managed to separate 200 tonnes of flammable liquid from the burning building.
Three people were airlifted to hospital. Work was carried out to ensure water from the rescue effort was contained so that it could not contaminate nearby drains.
An investigation into the cause is ongoing.
