Around 40 people were forced to flee a fire in a recycling plant in Canning Town, London.
Firefighters evacuated the area, in Dock Road, due to the presence of a number of gas cylinders on site.
A temporary hazard zone of 200 metres was set up and DLR trains running between Canning Town and West Silvertown were stopped.
Kingsland Fire station manager, Les Bowman, who was speaking at the scene, said: “Our crews are working really hard to bring the fire under control. Fortunately we’ve had no reports of injuries and the fire hasn’t affected local residents.
“Some gas cylinders are involved in the fire so we’re currently working to cool the cylinders down and make them safe. It’s likely we’ll be at the scene for the next few hours.”
Around 35 firefighters attended the fire, on 18 July, after receiving calls at 4.30pm. The blaze was brought under control just before midnight.
