Around 30 firefighters fought for over 24 hours to extinguish a fire at a paper factory in Manchester earlier this month.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called to Georgia Pacific, in Ashton, Wigan, at 3.20 am on 19 May.
On arrival crews found a large industrial warehouse unit well alight. At the height of the fire a large plume of smoke could be seen from 10 miles away.
They fought the blaze through the night with 15 firefighters remaining on site dampening down hotspots at 11.30 the next day. They were assisted by heavy machinery which was used to turn over the debris accessing deep seated pockets of fire.
