North West fire consortium awards new kit contract to Cosalt22 June 2010Cosalt is to supply new uniforms to firefighters based in the North West of England. Under a new contract with North West Fire and Rescue Service, the company will provide new firecoats and overtrousers to all firefighters by the end of the year. Watch manager Tony Franklin of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, who took part in the testing of the new kit, said: “All involved agreed that the Cosalt kit was well over and above the other kits. “It stood out as the most suitable for what we require. It was the most comfortable and practical and integrated best with the rest of the current [protective gear] such as the helmet, boots and gloves.” Cosalt is to showcase its firefighting suits as well as other search and rescue garments at Fire and Rescue 2010, held at Harrogate International Centre from 29-30 June. Also on show will be firefighting footwear and helmets, as well as working at height line rescue equipment, lifting equipment and life jackets. For more details, click here.
