Fire and Rescue 2011

In response to feedback from exhibitors, visitors, sponsors and conference delegates, Fire Conferences and Exhibitions Ltd (FCEL) and United Business Media (UBM Live) have agreed that Fire and Rescue 2011 will take place in late 2011 rather than at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in May.

FCEL Chairman, CFO Frank Duffield, paid tribute to the excellent FCEL/UBM Live partnership which since 2006 has delivered the UK’s premier Fire & Rescue event with great success, adding “both organisations feel the time is right for a fresh approach to the Fire and Rescue event which will in 2011 enable FCEL to continue to deliver an event, current and relevant to the market and designed and delivered to meet the needs of its varied audience”.

James Blue, Portfolio Director – Fire & Security at UBM Live said: “The scheduling of the local elections in May 2011 means that the timing of the Conference to coincide with the Protection & Management Series of events would not have been appropriate. We’ve enjoyed working with FCEL since 2006 and wish them every success with their event in the future.”

UBM Live will continue to deliver its Protection & Management Series, running from the 16th – 19th May 2011, featuring IFSEC, the world’s largest annual security event, Safety & Health Expo, The Facilities Show and International Firex.

A further announcement on the format and location of Fire & Rescue 2011 is expected shortly.

FCEL is an organisation that represents the interests of the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA), The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and the Fire Protection Association (FPA).
